A friend of mine went to Greece and returned with many photos of her trip--among them were some of cats in grape arbors. I liked the idea so much I asked her if I could use some as references and this painting was the result. I had never tried watercolor on watercolor canvas before, but I liked the way it turned out--spraying it with fixative created a crackled finish which emphasized the strokes of the cat's fur.
